NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2021

SPECIAL NOTICE

Please order soon. I am closing up shop and discontinuing my website on December 14, 2021. Thank you for your support of my art!

NEW PAINTINGS

New this month is my rooster—he’s very proud of his tail feathers and loves staring at them. He was painted in a class taught by Megan Swoyer, watercolor instructor. I named him “Haughty,” but it was misinterpreted as “Hottie” by my friends, and this name just may be more appropriate!

I've completed two autumn watercolor paintings, "Scarecrow in the Pumpkin Patch" and "Autumn Market." These were also done in a class with Megan Swoyer. I think each of them evokes the unique feeling we get this special time of year. I love the brilliant fall colors and the varied coloring of the pumpkins and the bright barn. These and the rooster are both for sale as original paintings on my website. And I have a new bookmark just in time to celebrate winter! .

I’ve made a commitment to weekly drawing practice (which started out as daily, but I’m still too busy to allow time to do this every day). I’ll show you some of the sketchbook pages I’ve drawn and painted, many from my garden. These are not for sale and I won’t be making reproductions from them.

CURRENT PROJECTS

I will be closing my website on December 14, 2021.

Substitutions might be necessary in your order as my stock is depleted, so please include your email address and a phone number where I can reach you if necessary. After December 14 you will need to call or email me with your request and I'll let you know if I have product available. You would then send in a check for payment.

Taking inventory of remaining cards and prints is what occupied me last week. Next I’ll be inventorying Christmas cards for sale on my website up to December 14.

GIVING BACK

A portion of all my website sales have gone to help stock the shelves of my local food pantry to feed thirty hungry families in my area. Thank you for all your help by ordering my artwork and making these donations possible.

TEESHIRTS

I have recently ordered more tee shirts, both lilac and geranium, so I’m sure to have your size! Check out the size chart and ordering details on my website, www.maryloupeters.com.

BOOKS

Garden Meditations includes 32 pages of illustrations reproduced from my original watercolor paintings along with scripture verses, meditations, and prayers. A perfect gift for a loved one—or a treat for yourself. Etiquette on the Go is illustrated with twelve of my watercolors. Order online at www.maryloupeters.com or find them in one of the fine shops on Mackinac Island or in Mackinaw City.

REFLECTIONS

I made a “Goodbye till Spring 2022” trip to Mackinac Island last week. Window boxes on Main Street were decorated beautifully for fall—a last effort by shop owners to make their customers feel welcomed in their shops. It’s been a super busy summer on the island and it’s always bittersweet to see it come to an end.

I am winding down my own business—it’s been a fun 20+ years watching it grow and meeting so many nice customers, many of whom have become good friends. I will continue to paint, but I won’t be offering any reproductions in the form of cards or matted prints. After December 14, 2021 my website will no longer be online, but you can contact me at marylou@maryloupeters.com for ordering and payment details. I can check my inventory to see if product is available.

I will certainly miss my newsletter readers. I know many of you, but for those I don’t, please realize how much I appreciate you reading my words and looking at my images every month. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
