Community

Mintaka Design supports the following community nonprofits in northern Michigan through board service or membership. We encourage you to support these worthy causes, too.

Little Traverse Conservancy

Little Traverse Conservancy

Since 1972, the Little Traverse Conservancy has evolved to become one of the most established and effective regional land trusts in the country. The Conservancy has protected nearly 40,000 acres of land, the equivalent of 62 square miles, and 105 miles of lake or stream frontage in northern Michigan.

Whether you want to maintain ownership, sell, or donate your land for protection, explore all of your options for permanently protecting the scenic and conservation values of your northern Michigan property. Help us support this worthy organization to preserve and protect the beauty and uniqueness of northern Michigan.

Northern Health Plan

Northern Health Plan

Many communities in Michigan are using an innovative approach to providing health care benefits to persons in need. Programs called County Health Plans are serving as a vehicle to provide access to organized systems of health care for the indigent uninsured and lower income persons without private or public health insurance. Each County Health Plan is responsible for administering the State's Adult Benefits Waiver (ABW) program for the county or counties it services.

Through contracts with local hospitals, most County Health Plans have expanded their coverage through various programs to include low income uninsured residents in their service areas. Qualified low income uninsured residents of Alpena, Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, Montmorency, Otsego, and Presque Isle county are eligible for a health care coverage program through the Northern Health Plan.
